We own IT4000's & IT8000's, we have had 100% failure with all amps. All amps have been updated by the factory, many have been replaced more than once, and still we continue to have noise of all sorts of levels and frequencies. I've pulled out what little hair I had left trying to deal with this to no avail. I curse QSC for discontinuing the PL9.0, if it wasn't for that we'd still be solid as a rock. In 5 years of running the Powerlights we had 0 failures. While the Crown factory has been great in sending us new amps everytime there's a problem, I'd much prefer to get a solid and consistant working product once and for all!
Another friend of mine swithced to all QSC Powerlight 3's. He had a bunch of Itech 8's and said they gave him problems and had some sent back for replacement. To the best of his knowledge, the problems only seemed to happen when he was running light loads (8 ohms or so) AND when using the DSP. Whenever he ran them hard (2 ohms) and no DSP active, he didnt have problems. His belief is that it is something with the DSP. Add computers to gear and you get problems that are inherent to computers....crashes, freezes, lockouts, etc... Perhaps amps should remain as just amps and leave the DSP to devices that solely handle those tasks. It has enough work to do just handling the power output, let alone now be processing all the xovers, limiting, eqs, blah blah blah....
Tur cilveekiem dazhaada pieredze, protams. Bet 2 ampu gadiijumaa nebuutu iisti satraukuma, tos var saremonteet, nomainiit vai paardot. Man lielaakaa sisteemaa ir 20 vienaadu ampu - taa gan buutu probleema.
